Mrs. Kessler's Cats

                                                                        Precious, 14 years old

See the story of my cats below!

      Simon, 14 years old

Both of my cats were abandoned. Precious was dropped off at an apartment complex I used to live at in East Bakersfield.
She had been hanging around my apartment for 7 years (from 1996-2003), prowling around with "cat packs". However,
the last 2 years, she started sleeping in my patio every night. Eventually, I took pity on her and started to feed her.
When I got married and moved into our house off Panama Lane, I just couldn't leave her behind, and so I didn't.
She stays with us permanently now as our "oldest child" and is very happy to have complete run of a two story house.

Simon was left in a duffel bag in a motel room in 2004. I'm assuming a person, couple or family lived there with no place to call home.
My guess is that they ran out of money and had to leave everything behind. A teacher who works for our school district is a
"foster mom" for lost and abandoned cats. She managed to convince the motel owners to give her Simon. Later, she let our vet know
that he was up for adoption. Our vet is Dr. Cherry Johnson at Serenity Cat Hospital, by the way. When I took Precious in for her regular
check-up, Dr. Johnson told me that this gentle black cat was in need of a loving home. Since we were looking for a companion
for Precious, we snatched him up. He is now our "second child" living permanently with us.

So that's the story! :-)
